Cameraman Tower Defense: Units and Combat Roles

Last updated 2026-10-10Unofficial player article

Recognize opening attackers, carries, splash partners, and utility units, then separate similarly named defenders before planning a lineup.

Cameraman Tower Defense units fill different jobs: opening damage, later carries, splash support, cash generation, and helper spawning. Start by identifying a unit's job rather than assuming that every camera-themed defender attacks in the same way.

Damage units to recognize

Ninja Cameraman is an inexpensive opening attacker, while Titan Cameraman is a main damage investment for later progression. Jetpack Cameraman emphasizes single-target boss damage. These are different tasks even though all three share the Cameraman name.

Upgraded Titan Speakerman and Large TV Man provide splash roles. Large Cameraman and Large Speakerman are earlier progression options with lower reported maximum output. Keep those distinctions in mind when moving from a working opening to a stronger late defense.

Utility changes what a unit contributes

Scientist Cameraman supplies cash instead of direct damage. It helps fund the defense but cannot replace the attacker that must stop enemies right away. Engineer Cameraman spawns helpers, with damage beginning at its final upgrade; an unfinished Engineer is therefore not an immediate damage solution.

Glitch Cameraman has a large final-upgrade gain. Judge the investment you can actually finish, not only the name or the unit's appearance. A late role can be powerful while still being awkward in the opening.

Read the unit name precisely

Treat this directory as a starting selection of recognizable units, not a reason to assume that every later release has the same role. A prefix such as Ninja, Scientist, or Titan identifies a different unit, not merely a cosmetic spelling of the basic Cameraman.

For an acquisition decision, use how to get units. For a team decision, use the lineup guide: it connects those individual jobs to an affordable opening and a later attacking plan.

FAQ

Is every Cameraman a damage tower?

No. Scientist Cameraman is cash support, so its contribution differs from an attacker.

Should I compare units only at their first upgrade?

No. Some have important late upgrades, but the cost of reaching that role is part of the decision.
